Zachys Wine + Liquor is a family-owned wine and spirits retailer (est. 1944) that needed to scale a personalized eCommerce experience without adding heavy IT overhead. Faced with limited resources and a complex ESP integration that stalled their email efforts, the team sought a cost-effective, low-maintenance triggered-email solution to recapture browsing and buying traffic while preserving the brand’s high-touch customer service.
They selected Bluecore for its fast, one-time integration and launched triggers for abandoned search, cart and product (later adding in-stock, new merchandise and price-decrease). Over 2.5 years online revenue grew 54% and now represents 23% of total revenue; triggered emails see a 58% open rate, 14% conversion and an average RPE of $5.26 (abandoned cart RPE $15.19). The program freed staff to focus on traffic and optimization, with plans to add more triggers (welcome, brand affinity, price increase).
