Speeding Up Engineering Data Traffic at Sund & Bælt

Sund & Bælt, the Copenhagen-based operator of major transportation infrastructure in Denmark, faced a huge backlog of engineering documents and drawings spread across aging systems. With an old drawing management tool and heavy reliance on outside contractors, staff sometimes spent up to four hours finding a document, and keeping maintenance and asset information current was difficult. BlueCielo Meridian from BlueCielo was selected to replace the legacy system and improve asset lifecycle information management.

BlueCielo implemented BlueCielo Meridian with the Asset Management Module, converting and centralizing documents, then integrating the platform with IBM Maximo. The result was a searchable, up-to-date repository for about one million pages of as-built documentation and 60,000 CAD drawings, cutting document retrieval from hours to minutes. BlueCielo helped Sund & Bælt streamline approvals, improve data integrity, and boost maintenance efficiency across engineering and operations.
