RWE, a leading European power generation company, needed a better way to manage massive volumes of engineering and operational documents across its brown coal and regenerative energy plants. The company wanted faster access to accurate technical information, better integration with CAD and Office tools, and a more reliable document management approach for maintenance, construction, and emergency situations. BlueCielo implemented BlueCielo Meridian as an engineering information management solution, integrating with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office and centralizing more than one million documents. The system improved searchability, access to current documentation across sites, and collaboration, while helping reduce downtime during emergencies; in one fire incident, RWE was able to retrieve critical documents from another server and restore basic electricity supply. According to RWE, the solution was easy to use and essential to progress at new construction sites.
