Cost-Effective Asset Lifecycle Information Management at Bluewater

Bluewater, a Netherlands-based engineering and operating company for FPSO and SPM systems in the oil and gas sector, needed a way to manage large volumes of engineering information across the full asset lifecycle. The company had to quickly find, retrieve, and present accurate as-built documents while also controlling concurrent engineering work, revision cycles, and proof of control for regulators. BlueCielo’s Meridian platform was used to address these Asset Lifecycle Information Management challenges.

Bluewater implemented BlueCielo Meridian with the Advanced Project Workflow module as an Engineering Document and Activity Management System, along with Asset Management and Explorer modules for its operational fleet. BlueCielo enabled better document control, automated linking of engineering data to assets, and integration with IBM Maximo, improving access to accurate information and streamlining commissioning and handover. The result was a more cost-effective ALIM process, reduced time spent searching for information, improved data quality and consistency, and stronger compliance and license-to-operate support.
