Chugach Electric Powers up Engineering Processes

Chugach Electric, Alaska’s largest electric utility cooperative, needed a better way to manage more than 1,000 engineering drawings across power plants, substations, and facilities. Its outdated manual indexing system made it difficult and time-consuming to find current drawings, track revisions, and support review and approval processes. Chugach Electric turned to BlueCielo and its BlueCielo Meridian EIM solution to centralize control of AutoCAD, scanned, and hybrid drawings.

BlueCielo implemented a tailored BlueCielo Meridian solution with search, viewing, printing, redlining, application integration, and configurable workflows, along with security roles and standardized metadata. As a result, Chugach Electric gained direct user access to up-to-date drawings, eliminated manual duplication and status-checking steps, and sped up drawing retrieval significantly. BlueCielo helped create a single source of truth for drawing information, improving efficiency, control, and confidence across the engineering process.
