BHP Billiton, a global producer and exporter of metallurgical coal, needed a better way to manage engineering information across its mining operations. BlueCielo, working through partner Onset Design, originally implemented BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise at one BHP Billiton site, with plans to expand after the initial success.

BlueCielo then rolled out Meridian to multiple additional locations, including Hay Point Terminal and four more BHP Billiton BMA MetCoal sites, with two more sites scheduled that year and four more planned later. The expanded deployment showed strong adoption and created a scalable document management solution across BHP Billiton’s operations.
