Hamilton County Tourism, the convention and visitors bureau north of Indianapolis, serves the fastest‑growing county in Indiana with attractions, historical sites and year‑round amateur sports events. Although they already had an engaging website and mobile site, they wanted a new, convenient way to engage frequent visitors and appeal to new audiences—so they began exploring a dedicated mobile app.
They partnered with local app provider Bluebridge to build a tourism app featuring Near Me & Directions, an events calendar and in‑app web views, and promoted it via their website, signage, a promotional video and a mobile tourism vehicle called “Pinny.” The app generated strong engagement—10.2K user sessions, 1,400 unique users and a 118% weekly growth increase—prompting a second recreational app, widespread partner praise, plans to expand Pinny to other markets, and record occupancy for the upcoming season.
