The Southeast Metro Stormwater Authority Digitizes its Plan Review Process with Bluebeam Revu

Southeast Metro Stormwater Authority (SEMSWA) in Centennial, Colorado manages stormwater services and reviews drainage, grading, erosion control and construction plans for the City of Centennial and parts of Arapahoe County. Their paper-based plan-review process was slow, duplicated printing and delivery, and remained costly even after the city began accepting electronic permit submissions, creating a need to move to an efficient e-plancheck workflow for large-format PDFs and electronic markups.

SEMSWA implemented Bluebeam Revu to download PDFs from the city portal, apply standardized, reusable markups and stamps via the Tool Chest, and re-upload redlined files for distribution. The digital process sped reviews, reduced paper and printing costs, improved staff efficiency and consistency, increased collaboration with applicants, and is now being expanded to other partner agencies while SEMSWA explores Bluebeam Studio for cloud-based collaboration.
