Sundt Turns to Revu to Manage a Complicated Punch Process for the San Diego State University Aztec Student Union

Sundt Construction used Bluebeam Revu to manage punch for the complex San Diego State University Aztec Student Union — a $75M, 206,000‑sq‑ft, LEED‑targeting building with theaters, a ballroom and a bowling alley. With 10 parties responsible for punch, an 800‑page plan set and numerous technical and architectural details, Sundt needed a paperless system that would allow standardized annotations, room‑level organization, responsibility tracking and mobile access so all stakeholders could work from the same drawings.

Sundt pared the plan set to a 254‑page punch set, customized Revu’s PunchKey with ~200 predefined symbols, used Spaces to tie markups to specific rooms, and hosted documents in Bluebeam Studio for real‑time, cross‑platform collaboration. The result was a simplified, faster punch process: automated room references and responsibility codes reduced manual data entry, recurring issues were easier to spot, and the team realized measurable time and cost savings while improving coordination and accountability.
