Pan Pacific Mechanical Keeps an Epic Project on Schedule Using Bluebeam Revu

Pan Pacific Mechanical (PPM), led by BIM Lead Dan Watts, faced the daunting task of coordinating MEP work on the 73-story Wilshire Grand in downtown Los Angeles — a mixed-use tower with a 900‑room hotel, 400,000 sq ft of office space, retail, and below‑grade parking. With Turner Construction, more than 20 subcontractors and 400+ workers on site, PPM needed a way to manage thousands of documents, ensure everyone had the latest drawings, and keep a tight, no‑margin schedule.

PPM deployed Bluebeam Revu and Bluebeam Studio to export and share PDFs, distribute shop drawings to field tablets, break down BIM models for broader use, run live Studio Sessions for submittal markups, and create coordinated color composites using Paste in Place. The cloud collaboration and tracked markups eliminated paper back‑and‑forth, improved organization and real‑time access, saved over 1,000 work hours, and helped keep the project moving on time and on budget.
