CARE International UK’s emergency shelter team provides technical construction support and training after disasters and needed a fast, reliable way to share, annotate and clarify technical building documents with remote engineers, carpenters and partner agencies. The need was urgent during events like Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines (November 2013), which destroyed or severely damaged over one million homes and required rapid, clear technical guidance for on-the-ground rebuilding.
By adopting Bluebeam Revu the team could mark up drawings digitally, produce clear guidance posters and collaborate remotely in real time, which streamlined communication and sped decision-making. Six months after Haiyan, more than 80,000 houses had been rebuilt, 140,000 repaired and over one million people reached with safer-building messages; CARE has since used Revu for other responses, including reconstruction work in India after Typhoon Phailin.
