Balfour Beatty Construction, a leading U.S. commercial builder, faced the challenge of streamlining submittals on an $80M, 205,000 sq ft church project to reduce redundancy, cut costs, and improve project communication. The team aimed to replace time‑consuming paper processes and printing/shipping overhead with a more efficient digital workflow.

Using Bluebeam Revu, the project implemented standardized PDF submittal templates, custom stamps, and direct markup tools to manage submittals electronically. The result: all submittals (except physical samples) were completed digitally, eliminating printing/shipping costs, saving significant time and labor, lowering subcontractor expenses, and enabling an electronic record set that’s more accessible for the owner.
