Case Study: Silk Contract Logistics achieves rapid customer onboarding and standardized WMS deployments with Blue Yonder

A Blue Yonder Case Study

Preview of the Silk Contract Logistics Case Study

Standardizing Processes and Increasing Speed of Deployment

Silk Contract Logistics is an Australian specialist in wharf cartage, warehousing and distribution that needed to replace a legacy, bespoke WMS approach with a repeatable, scalable solution. The company’s challenge was to standardize processes, reduce implementation and onboarding time, improve customer experience and retention, and make it easier and less costly for customers to move to Silk’s services.

By partnering with JDA and deploying JDA Warehouse Management and Extended Third Party Billing (with consulting and training), Silk created standardized deployment templates and a single-installation model that replaced per-site legacy instances. The result: much faster onboarding (in some cases under 24 hours), higher workforce productivity, automated billing that processes up to 500,000 transactions weekly and generates invoices within three days, fewer disputes, streamlined invoicing, and improved customer retention.
