Shoppers Stop Continues to Maintain Its Competitive Edge by Adding Blue Yonder Allocation to Its Collection

Shoppers Stop, a pioneer of modern retailing in India and operator of more than 65 large-format department stores and multiple retail formats, outgrew its legacy systems and faced inefficient store replenishment. A fixed‑stock approach left some stores over- or under-stocked, prompted costly inter-store transfers, and failed to prioritize best-selling locations as the chain scaled.

To address this, Shoppers Stop implemented JDA Allocation and other JDA Retail Planning solutions and services to automate replenishment using store- and product-level sales data. The change standardized allocations, improved inventory turns, reduced overstocks and transfers, increased chainwide sales by 12% and boosted certain categories in lower-graded stores by nearly 50%, while cutting markdowns and raising planners’ productivity.
