RONA, Canada’s largest hardware, home renovation and gardening retailer with nearly 1,500 outlets and an extensive distribution network, faced volatile consumer spending that made inventory and service planning difficult. The company needed better future visibility to reduce days of stock, improve inventory turns and raise service targets — including a 98% in‑store in‑stock goal and a 94% distribution fill rate — across thousands of SKUs and more than 17 distribution centers.

RONA partnered with JDA to implement a suite of demand-planning, collaboration and fulfillment solutions plus consulting services, creating a centralized “one forecast” process with greater automation and exception-based management. Within months they saw measurable improvements: comparable inventory turns up 10%, promo availability at 99%, overall in‑store in‑stock at 98%, fill rates of 94–95% and SKU-weighted forecast accuracy of 75%, while a small analyst team now manages 100,000 items across 600+ sites.
