A Blue Yonder Case Study
Nomeco A/S, Denmark’s largest pharmaceutical wholesaler with a 70% market share, faced a highly complex market where the government sets biweekly reimbursement rules and drug pricing, creating constant volatility for suppliers and pharmacies. Serving 200+ pharmacies from five distribution centers, Nomeco struggled with manual, forecast-based ordering, limited vendor/customer collaboration, and the need to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
By implementing JDA Advanced Warehouse Replenishment and JDA Advanced Store Replenishment to run a vendor-managed inventory (VMI) program integrated with its ERP and customers’ systems, Nomeco automated purchase orders, gained real-time store visibility, and optimized inventory allocation. The initiative drove customer satisfaction to 99.8%, achieved inventory accuracy greater than 99% at partner pharmacies, cut picking lines by 20–25% per pharmacy, significantly reduced order costs and staffing time, and scaled to 170+ pharmacies with plans for further expansion.
