Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) needed to ensure accessories and service parts were available to meet high customer service expectations, but its legacy forecasting used a single algorithm across all SKUs, limiting forecast accuracy, inventory control, and analytics for fast- and slow-moving parts as well as new product introductions.
MMNA deployed Blue Yonder Luminate Planning in the cloud (three-month rollout) and upskilled users to apply multiple forecasting algorithms and deeper analytics; the result was improved forecast accuracy, reduced inventory for certain parts, higher service levels—especially during new model launches—faster resolution of supply chain issues, and cost savings from avoiding hardware investments.
