A Blue Yonder Case Study
Michelin, a global tire manufacturer with 68 production plants and brands across 170+ countries, faced growing supply chain complexity from scarce capacity, an expanding product portfolio and parts growth tied to innovation, plus volatile, seasonal demand. Heterogeneous legacy tools and gaps in the S&OP decision-making process left risks, constraints and missed opportunities undetected and made coordinated planning difficult.
Michelin implemented Blue Yonder’s S&OP using agile three-week sprints and cloud deployment, performed a gap analysis, and instituted monthly objectives and reviews while joining a customer best-practices group. The solution standardized collaboration across regions and plants, enabled 12–18 month tactical balancing of demand and capacity, increased planning efficiency and visibility, improved decision making and accountability, and reduced supply-chain risk.
