Lenzing Group, a supplier of botanic cellulose fibers to the global fashion industry, faced a major challenge: the fragmented, multi-player value chain and an uncontrolled proliferation of Excel-based planning left the company without end-to-end transparency. That lack of visibility meant slow responses to demand changes—sometimes three to four months—leading to overproduction, waste and higher environmental impact as Lenzing pursues carbon neutrality and a circular-economy model.
Partnering with Blue Yonder, Lenzing implemented a cloud-based Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) solution that created a single version of the truth and enabled boundaryless, real-time planning (integrating S&OP with S&OE). The platform replaced manual processes, allowed daily or weekly replanning, and unified more than 150 users across functions—resulting in increased transparency, faster exception response, improved collaboration, and measurable reductions in environmental impact while supporting sustainable and financial targets.
