Grupo Flexi Masters Supply Chain Complexity While Improving Customer Service Levels

Grupo Flexi, Mexico’s largest leather footwear manufacturer with more than 75 years in business and over 13 million pairs produced annually, faced rapidly growing supply-chain complexity as it expanded assortments to roughly 5,000 SKUs and added seasonal, short‑lifecycle products. Planning was made difficult by up to 30 components per SKU, variable leather lead times of three weeks to three months, multiple suppliers and 30 manufacturing sites, leaving the company struggling to forecast demand and synchronize production, materials and capacity under a make‑to‑stock model.

Flexi engaged JDA Consulting and implemented JDA Demand Manager and JDA Supply Chain Planner to standardize planning practices, improve forecasting and automate what‑if scenarios. The changes halved planning and re‑planning time, boosted production by 40%, increased customer service to 87–90% while reducing inventory (inventory turns up 17%), enabled planning for 35% more factories and nearly 50% more pairs, and greatly improved responsiveness to market swings.
