Grupo Damm Saves €1.1 Million in Annual Freight Costs by Upgrading Its JDA Transportation Management Solutions

Grupo Damm, a Barcelona-based brewer with €880 million in annual revenue and well-known brands such as Estrella Damm, faced a more complex distribution network and aging transportation systems that increased administrative workload and made it harder to control costs and service levels. The decade-old JDA solution in place no longer met the company’s needs for visibility, agility and efficient carrier use.

After a year-long upgrade to JDA Transportation Manager, Transportation Planner, Fleet Management and Reporting—implemented with Agora Europe—Grupo Damm gained better visibility, automated many transport tasks and enabled advanced load-building and tariff optimization. The result: €1.1 million saved in annual freight costs, an 11.8% increase in truck capacity utilization, a 5.8% reduction in empty kilometers and 84 fewer weekly administrative hours, providing a scalable platform for growth.
