Case Study: Goya Foods achieves 98% service levels and 700% planning productivity with Blue Yonder

A Blue Yonder Case Study

Preview of the Goya Foods Case Study

Goya Foods builds on its rich heritage by spicing up its supply chain performance

Goya Foods is a 75-year-old, family-founded food company with more than $1 billion in annual sales, 1,600 SKUs and a global footprint of manufacturing and distribution centers. Rapid SKU growth and legacy, manual supply-chain processes left the company working transactionally instead of demand-driven, causing complexity, inefficiency and 5–6% out-of-stock levels that threatened service and growth.

Goya partnered with JDA to deploy Intelligent Fulfillment (Demand, Demand Classification, Fulfillment and Order Optimization), creating a “one-number” forecast, automated order generation and targeted demand planning by SKU and seasonality. The rollout—completed in about eight months—boosted planner productivity by 700%, cut out-of-stocks to 2%, achieved a 98% service level (and 99.96% fill in a VMI pilot), reduced supply and transportation costs, and delivered a rapid ROI.
