A Blue Yonder Case Study
GEODIS, a North American 3PL managing more than 38 million square feet across 126 facilities, needed to boost labor productivity ahead of a critical peak season. Existing metrics were single-variable (cases/hr or pallets/hr) and lacked visibility, so the company needed an incentive program, a labor management system, and engineered labor standards—but had only ten months and limited internal resources to complete the work.
Working with JDA (Workforce Management) and implementation partner 4SIGHT, GEODIS used MOST-based engineered labor standards, pre-built location maps, and expert engineers to update 250+ multi-variable standards across 60 accounts (upgrading 15 to discrete travel standards) and roll out 40 incentive programs within 10 months. The initiative automated incentive pay, increased performance visibility, strengthened supervisory accountability, shifted culture toward productivity, and established a repeatable standards process to drive ongoing improvements, including reductions in indirect labor.
