Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), the world’s seventh-largest automaker with well-known brands and production in more than 40 countries, faced rising global demand that strained plant and supplier capacity. The company’s priority was to increase speed and flexibility in delivery while identifying capacity chokepoints early so it could respond to schedule changes and avoid production disruptions.

FCA implemented JDA Order Sequencing & Slotting, using built-in optimizers and operating constraints to slot and sequence orders by customer priority, delivery commitments and product features. The solution enabled earlier detection of capacity constraints and corrective action with dealers and markets, resulting in faster, more consistent production, improved parts availability and accuracy, and unified systems and processes across global plants.
