Beaver Street Fisheries Dramatically Improves Warehouse Efficiency and Accuracy

Beaver Street Fisheries, a Jacksonville-based seafood and meat wholesaler that imports over 3,000 containers annually and supplies mass discounters, grocers and foodservice customers under the Sea Best brand, faced growing customer demands for customization (breading, resizing, repackaging) that its 25-year-old legacy system could not support. The company needed faster, more accurate warehouse and transportation operations to improve responsiveness and scale its value-added services.

Beaver Street implemented JDA’s Intelligent Fulfillment suite—starting with JDA Warehouse Management—working with JDA Services to complete the Jacksonville warehouse rollout in 12 weeks and deploy handheld task-directed picking and pallet-level tracking. The changes raised inventory accuracy from 85% to 97%, cut average picking time from about 10 to 4 minutes (≈60% faster), reduced picking errors from 5% to under 1%, lowered overtime and customer returns, and improved dock turnaround and overall customer fill rates.
