Service Partners, one of the largest building-material distributors in the U.S. with over 75 locations, needed a scalable way to develop the decision-making and customer-facing skills of its dispersed workforce (targeting 300+ employees) without the cost and low retention of traditional classroom training. They turned to Blue Ocean Brain for a microlearning solution that could deliver short, regular lessons and be consumed on mobile devices across all 50 states.
Blue Ocean Brain provided a mix of off-the-shelf professional-skills content plus a custom content tile, delivered initially as three microlearning lessons per week (later increased to four with a daily opt-in). Using Blue Ocean Brain’s mobile app and reporting tools, Service Partners achieved over 90% lesson participation and nearly 100% traffic to their custom tile, expanded the program from inside sales to outside sales and branch managers, and saw higher engagement and retention driven by flexible delivery and gamified features like the leaderboard.
