Women’s Fund for Fox Valley Region engages 146 girls and funds 27 organizations with Blue Door Consulting

The Women’s Fund for Fox Valley Region sought to empower high school girls through its Girl-powered Giving initiative, a program that teaches strategic grant making. Their challenge was to facilitate meaningful discussions and build trust among a diverse group of teenage participants who had never met. Blue Door Consulting provided focus group facilitation services to guide these decision-making circles.

Blue Door Consulting's facilitators used thought-provoking questions and activities like engaging introductions to build a foundation of trust and spark open conversations. This approach allowed the girls to hone in on key issues and pinpoint solutions for their peers. The results were significant: the program has funded 27 organizations, engaged 146 girls in the grant process, and 74% of participants reported volunteering after the program.
