Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service - Customer Case Study

Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service identified a need to improve data protection and availability for their Business Continuity Management programme. Their existing infrastructure did not provide an acceptable level of accessible information following a major disruption. They chose vendor Blue Chip to help design a solution to ensure critical data would be available to all staff.

Blue Chip implemented a virtualised server infrastructure using VMware vSphere and EMC SANs. This solution consolidated servers, reducing them from eight to two, and established daily replication of data to a disaster recovery site. This ensured information availability during a disruption and provided additional benefits including reduced power consumption, server management time, and ongoing costs.
