Government Agency Containerizes Logistics App with BlackBerry Dynamics without Needing to Code

BlackBerry, a government agency in an OECD member country with more than 70,000 employees, needed to deploy a purchased logistics app that scanned barcodes and validated assets against a central database. However, the app could not be released to devices because it did not comply with the agency’s cybersecurity policy, which required mobile apps handling sensitive data to be protected in the BlackBerry Dynamics container. The ISV would not create a custom BlackBerry Dynamics version, leaving the department unable to use the app for months.

Blue Cedar solved the problem with Blue Cedar Accelerator for BlackBerry, enabling the agency to upload the unsigned app binary and generate a BlackBerry Dynamics-enabled version with no manual coding. This allowed immediate deployment, improved employee productivity, and reduced integration and update costs; the case study says the department could have faced at least $200,000 per year for a developer otherwise. Blue Cedar also gave the agency a flexible cloud or on-premises deployment option for future app integrations.
