Plox partnered with Blue Bite to authenticate Disney’s futuristic, hovering STAR WARS Death Star speaker and stop counterfeit copies from entering the market. The challenge was to make replicas difficult to produce while also giving the brand a way to connect with buyers; Blue Bite provided an NFC-based product authentication solution integrated into a tag mounted behind the speaker base label.

Blue Bite’s NFC tag enabled on-product authentication and created a shared channel between the brand and end users via a Facebook experience. The solution made counterfeiting significantly harder and helped deter the sale of fake speakers while giving Plox a direct engagement and verification touchpoint with customers, improving product security and consumer interaction.
