eBay partnered with Blue Bite to support its tech-led re-imagination of the marketplace as customer expectations changed rapidly. To improve trust, safety, and transparency in non-new categories like sneakers and watches, eBay needed a better customer experience and a way to verify authenticity at scale. The solution used Blue Bite’s NFC-powered personalized mobile experience as part of eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee.

Blue Bite helped eBay launch an authentication workflow where items are verified by trained authenticators, tagged with NFC-enabled smart tags or cards, and then linked to a Blue Bite-powered digital experience for buyers. The results were strong: nearly 2 million items authenticated, nearly 90% customer satisfaction on authenticated transactions, triple-digit growth in sneakers, double-digit growth in luxury watches, $14 billion in year-over-year GMV, 11 million new buyers added, and $2.9 billion in revenue growth.
