Source BMX worked with blubolt to enhance its Shopify Plus store with a custom BMX bike builder and wheel builder. The challenge was to create a highly intuitive, mobile-friendly experience that let riders design custom builds from scratch or upgrade existing bikes, while managing complex compatibility rules across multiple international storefronts.

blubolt delivered a bespoke React-based builder layer on top of Source BMX’s Shopify Plus theme, using GraphQL and TypeScript to pull real-time product data, apply compatibility logic, and support save, share, and return functionality via “Your Workshop.” The result was a 126% increase in website sessions and a 108% rise in new users, helping Source BMX reduce friction, improve confidence, and drive stronger engagement.
