The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum

The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum (SAAACAM) is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and interpreting African American history in San Antonio. As its grassroots volunteer program scaled, the organization outgrew Excel spreadsheets and needed a better way to recruit, train, and manage volunteers. SAAACAM turned to Bloomerang’s InitLive volunteer management solution to support its growing operations.

With Bloomerang’s InitLive, SAAACAM was able to recruit volunteers through its website and newsletters, manage in-person training, enable self-signup for shifts, and use mobile check-in for event participation. The Salesforce connector also helped the museum convert members into volunteers and track hours and engagement across programs. The result was a more user-friendly, scalable volunteer system supporting 144 volunteers, 13 venues, 350 shifts, and 140 opportunities.
