Naperville Education Foundation faced the sudden cancellation of its 27th Annual Building a Passion breakfast when schools closed for COVID-19 and needed to replace event revenue to support at-risk students. Working with Bloomerang and using Bloomerang’s email/campaign tools (Steven from Bloomerang joined NEF’s team virtually), NEF pivoted quickly to an online fundraising strategy tied to a new crisis fund.
Using Bloomerang’s email platform NEF launched a two-touch appeal plus a third “what you would have seen” message, announcing the Kid Booster Crisis Fund and directing donors to online giving. The campaign raised over $100,000 (including many new donors) and produced strong engagement—Email #1: 29% open / 17% CTR, Email #2: 31% open / 2.4% CTR, Email #3: 45% open / 4.6% CTR—demonstrating Bloomerang’s role in helping NEF convert an event cancellation into a successful emergency fundraising effort.
