A Bloomerang Case Study
GlobalMedic, a Canadian charity operated by the David McAntony Gibson Foundation, relies on a largely volunteer-driven model to deliver rapid disaster response across programs like water, medical and shelter. When COVID-19 forced event sizes down while increasing frequency and locations, their manual signup and scheduling processes became time-consuming and hard to monitor, so GlobalMedic turned to Bloomerang’s volunteer management solution to meet new safety and deployment requirements.
Bloomerang implemented online self sign-up, supervisor check-in and attendance tracking, streamlined scheduling and mass volunteer communications, giving volunteers access to hours, reminders and profile updates. The result was dramatic time savings—scheduling time was cut by about half (previously three to four hours a day)—improved COVID-safety compliance through attendance records, and stronger engagement across 4,500 volunteers, 44 opportunities and 1,900 shifts.
