A Bloomerang Fundraising Case Study
The Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) in Corvallis, Oregon is a largely volunteer-run organization offering 150 presentations a year for adult learners, most over 60. After separating from the university alumni association in 2014, ALL found its paper-based payment process—weekly trips to the mailbox and bank, plus manual entry of card data—was time-consuming, cumbersome, and exposed members’ payment information to unnecessary handling.
ALL implemented a Qgiv online payment form for membership dues, event fees, and donations, giving members a quick, secure way to pay by credit card. In the first year with Qgiv, credit-card transactions rose from 14.7% to 62% of all payments (56 to 230 transactions, a 310.7% increase), checks fell from 326 to 141, and 75 credit-card transactions occurred in the first two months alone—saving staff time and improving convenience and security for members.
