A Bloomerang Fundraising Case Study
Tanglen Elementary PTO, a volunteer-run parent-teacher organization serving a Title I school in Minnetonka, needed to replace its in-person Parents Night Out auction during the pandemic but couldn’t afford costly auction platforms or long-term contracts. Facing the risk of losing crucial funds used to support students and staff, the PTO sought an affordable, easy-to-use digital solution to keep their fundraiser on track.
The PTO chose Qgiv’s auction platform, quickly setting up web- and app-based bidding, a wine pull, and a fund-a-need for teacher appreciation; the intuitive tools let volunteers upload item images and manage the event in hours. The virtual auction raised more than $9,000—nearly one-third of the PTO’s $30,000 annual goal—with a 1,150% ROI on a $720 item budget and enough proceeds to provide appreciation gifts for all 108 staff members, far surpassing prior $2,500 auctions.
