A Bloomerang Fundraising Case Study
Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, the largest open‑admission animal welfare group in Southern Colorado, faced an urgent challenge when COVID‑19 forced their operations to change in March 2020. Their planned mix of direct mail, email, and social outreach needed a rapid overhaul to keep donors engaged and maintain funding for animals in their care.
Relying on the Qgiv platform they adopted in 2018, HSPPR used form cloning and ramped up email communications—sending daily updates in March–April and 2–3 times weekly thereafter—to deploy dozens of targeted appeals. The results: 2020 became their biggest online fundraising year, raising over $637,000, increasing individual gifts by 64%, and achieving major wins such as a $90K+ spring match, an $89K+ virtual Pawtoberfest, and more than $20K for their Community Relief Fund.
