Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County Exceeds $20,000 Virtual Auction Goal

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County needed to pivot its annual Women’s Leadership Initiative event when COVID-19 disrupted in-person plans. With tight budgets and concern about donors’ comfort with technology, the team sought a flexible, cost-effective platform to preserve engagement and fundraising without canceling the event—so they created a hybrid “Trunk or Treat Yo Self Auction” combining in-person tailgating and a virtual auction.

Using Qgiv’s pay-as-you-go auction tools and the Givi mobile bidding app, they ran virtual raffles, a fund-a-need appeal, push-notified live bidding, and provided pre-event and day-of registration support. The hybrid format exceeded its $20,000 goal, raising $21,305.25, and donors offset about 22% of processing fees through GiftAssist; the organization plans to keep the hybrid model for future events.
