A Bloomerang Fundraising Case Study
Fresno Mission (formerly Fresno Rescue Mission) is a Christ-centered nonprofit in Fresno, CA that shifted from a traditional rescue mission to a family-focused organization as the face of homelessness changed—now serving more young families and individuals with situational needs. Their challenge was rebranding and communicating a new name, mission, and story to existing supporters and to attract new donors, especially during the shifts caused by COVID-19.
They embraced digital tools and storytelling—relaunching their name, logo, website and video content, working with Qgiv for optimized donation forms, text fundraising, QR codes, Google Analytics and Facebook pixel tracking, and partnering with Brewer Direct for targeted digital and direct-mail campaigns. The strategy paid off: recurring donations rose by over 75%, one-time gifts increased 105% (from about $380K in 2019 to $776K in 2020), they recruited more than 1,000 new donors, and smaller gifts and donation frequency grew substantially.
