A Bloomerang Fundraising Case Study
Disability Rights Washington, the state-wide nonprofit advocating for the rights of people with all disabilities, needed a new online platform for its virtual Breaking Barriers fundraiser. Their priorities included a single integrated system for peer-to-peer and auction fundraising, customizable event pages with tabs, a real-time fundraising thermometer, embedded livestreaming, strong accessibility features, better reporting, and reliable customer support — requirements their previous two-system setup could not meet.
They chose Qgiv, which combined auctions and peer-to-peer on one platform, simplified reporting and donor follow-up, and allowed easy page customization, embedded livestreams, and a real-time combined thermometer. Qgiv’s Givi App supported auction notifications, and the platform accommodated accessibility needs (captioning, ASL, audio descriptions); strong customer support and flexible pricing rounded out the solution. The event raised more than $105,000, received positive accessibility feedback, and convinced the team to retain virtual elements for future hybrid events.
