A Bloomerang Fundraising Case Study
The Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii provides low-cost after-school programs for thousands of youth across Oahu and Kaua‘i, but limited staff capacity and an uninspiring, non-team-focused fundraising platform made it hard to engage supporters or run data-driven campaigns. The development team worried a platform switch would be difficult and time-consuming, and previous tools required heavy manual outreach that didn’t scale.
After evaluating options, BGCH adopted Qgiv’s peer-to-peer tools—team fundraising, goal “buckets,” gamified badges, GiftAssist, and hands-on customer support—which made it easy for board members and community teams to recruit donors and compete. The result: board teams exceeded their $92,000 goal (114%), the 2018 Great Futures Day raised $200,000 ( $138,259 processed online), and GiftAssist added $3,064, while staff reported higher engagement and a simpler, more measurable campaign process.
