Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota Uses Qgiv to Host Record-Breaking Virtual Auction

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota, which matches hundreds of children with adult mentors, faced a last-minute threat to its flagship fundraiser, Evening For Kids’ Sake, when COVID-19 made an in-person gala impossible. The organization needed to quickly pivot the event to a virtual format while preserving auction revenue and donor engagement.

They expanded use of Qgiv’s Givi app to run the silent and live auctions, sell raffle tickets, and power a fund-a-need drive, while streaming the event and walkthroughs via Facebook Live. The virtual approach attracted more attendees, sped reconciliation, and secured funds quickly—raising over $100,000 total (including $15,000 from the silent auction, $35,200 from the live auction, and more than $20,000 via fund-a-need), with nearly $55,000 processed through Qgiv.
