A Bloomerang Fundraising Case Study
Animal Justice is Canada’s only national animal law advocacy organization, a small team of lawyers and staff that takes on major cases and policy work. They wanted to run their first peer-to-peer crowdfunding campaign (#Voiceless4AnimalJustice) but Engaging Networks’ peer-to-peer plan was prohibitively expensive — and they had just one week before launch — so Communications and Development Manager Shannon Milling turned to Qgiv for a fast solution.
Qgiv’s Customer Experience team (with quick help from Michael) trained Shannon on the intuitive drag-and-drop platform, automated emails, donor badges, and easy peer page creation, plus GiftAssist to offset processing fees. The campaign raised $28,164 from 465 donations (125 new donors), exceeding the $25,000 goal by 12%, avoided a $4,000 platform cost, and was implemented without a long-term contract — prompting plans to make the fundraiser an annual event with a $50,000 goal for 2019.
