Case Study: District of Columbia Public Schools empowers teacher development with BloomBoard

Empowering Teachers and Promoting Accountability

District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) needed a better way to support teachers as it rolled out Common Core State Standards across the district. Resources for professional development were scattered, teachers felt overwhelmed, and DCPS lacked a system to follow up, personalize learning, and track participation. To address this, DCPS partnered with BloomBoard and used its platform to manage professional development and collect participation data.

BloomBoard helped DCPS launch a pilot program in 10 schools with customized templates, a highly visual online tracking system, and built-in accountability for teacher development. The solution let teachers see their progress, plan next steps, and stay engaged while giving the district useful data on participation and trends. According to DCPS, BloomBoard helped shift the culture in pilot schools toward greater focus on professional development and improvement.
