Walmart Meets Energy Goals with Bloom Energy Servers

Walmart sought a renewable energy solution to help meet its goal of being supplied by 100 percent renewable energy. The challenge was to find a technology that could lower costs, reduce environmental impact, and provide reliable, continuous power to stores, including during grid outages. They turned to Bloom Energy and its Bloom Energy Servers for this on-site generation.

Bloom Energy implemented over 40 Bloom Energy Server installations at Walmart stores and distribution centers, primarily in California. The servers, mostly powered by biogas, can supply up to 60-75% of a facility's electrical load. This solution helps Walmart progress toward its sustainability targets, lowers energy costs, and provides critical backup power capability.
