Case Study: Sutter Health achieves lower emissions and LEED Gold goals with Bloom Energy fuel cells

A Bloom Energy Case Study

Preview of the Sutter Health Case Study

Bloom Energy Powers Sutter Health’s New LEED Gold Santa Rosa Regional Hospital

Sutter Health, a not-for-profit health system in Northern California, was designing a new, state-of-the-art medical center in Santa Rosa that incorporated advanced technology and green building practices. As part of its goal to achieve LEED Gold certification, Sutter Health partnered with Bloom Energy to implement a clean on-site power generation solution using the Bloom Energy Server fuel cell.

The solution implemented by Bloom Energy was a 375 kW fuel cell system that generates electricity through an electrochemical process. This installation provides a substantial amount of power for the hospital. The measurable results include a reduction of CO2 emissions by more than 600,000 pounds annually and a 19 percent reduction in the facility's carbon footprint, supporting Sutter Health's strong commitment to local sustainability.
