UPGRADED, an enhanced smart ticketing startup in the entertainment and sports ticketing space, needed a blockchain-based foundation to address the double-spending and fraud problems common in mobile ticket sales while still interoperating with legacy systems. The solution helped UPGRADED complete pilot programs with MLB and NBA teams and serve as the sole ticket provider for the 2017 Dream Bowl, while also helping event organizers reduce fraud and streamline mobile ticket access without requiring app downloads or cumbersome registration.
