Big box retailer gains valuable insight into shopper flow

Big Box Retailing Company partnered with Blix to better understand visitor flow and optimize store layout for improved sales. With multiple departments competing for floor space, the retailer needed accurate insight into customer movement rather than relying only on sales data.

Blix implemented Blix Traffic by installing 15 sensors throughout the store to capture real-time footfall and customer journey data. The analysis showed that 34% of customers visited more than one department, 38% of those visited three departments, women’s shoes had the highest dwell time at 10:49 minutes, and the sporting department had the lowest visitor count but a strong 9-minute dwell time. Blix used these findings to recommend layout and merchandising changes to drive more cross-department visits, increase dwell time, and improve sales potential.
