Case Study: The Harvard Crimson achieves cloud-first reliability and improved productivity with Blissfully

A Blissfully Case Study

Preview of the The Harvard Crimson Case Study

How Blissfully helped America's oldest college newspaper

The Harvard Crimson, the nation’s oldest continuously published daily college newspaper with a staff of about 400, faced unreliable on‑site servers, security concerns, and a desire to move to the cloud. They engaged Blissfully to lead a long‑term IT transition after frustrations with their previous remote provider and to ensure business continuity for decades of archives and daily production.

Blissfully conducted a strategic deep dive and implemented a cloud‑first plan: they migrated 5,231 GB (≈5 TB) from a local Windows file share to secure onsite + offsite backups with real‑time sync to Dropbox, moved two critical Microsoft Access workflows to Salesforce, migrated accounting from Great Plains to QuickBooks Online, upgraded Wi‑Fi, and recycled 150 old computers. As a result, Blissfully delivered improved productivity and student satisfaction, stronger security and business continuity, and significantly reduced exposure to hardware failure.
